About Dr. Angelo Del Re, MD, MSc, FAAP
Dr. Del Re grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended college at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. He furthered his education by earning both a graduate degree in neuroscience as well as his medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Del Re completed his pediatrics residency in Virginia, with research interests in child abuse detection and prevention. He also practiced pediatric medicine internationally in Uganda and Haiti. Angelo returned to North Carolina for two years, where he worked in outpatient clinical care as well as newborn and pediatric hospital medicine.
Since relocating to San Diego in 2014, Dr. Del Re has served the urgent needs of the children in our community as a provider at Rady Children’s Hospital emergency department.
In 2015, he decided to join the medical office at Coast Pediatrics in Carmel Valley where he now works full time. While Angelo considers it a privilege caring for acutely ill children, he also has interests in both newborn wellness and childhood injury prevention. He is looking forward to continuing to serve our community by building relationships with families and helping them stay happy and healthy.
